I read this from a forum where this guy was looking for a job in Asia, stating that he has a few years "___ years experience living in Asia". Does that make sense to you, if so, let me know I have an extra page to add on my CV!

Maybe he should have specified which country or countries he's had experience living in because Asia's quite vast.
But yeah, it does matter believe it or not. In fact, many countries add this to their long-term visa or residence permit requirement. I'm guessing it has something to do with being able to adapt to laws and being able to live in harmony with the culture.

I absolutely believe there is a very positive attribute to have lived in the host country for a few years, if the person is a foreigner that is. That way he will most likely learned alot of the different culture and "new" code of conduct and can more easily fit in with the work enviroment and co-workers
