This evening I attended an "event" where this foreign guy started telling the Chinese that they lack conversational skills and they should really know how to be conversationalists.
Which sounded ironic to me because this guy kind of scares people away. He is foul-mouthed, manic, offensive and over-confident. Just in case he's reading this: sorry to sound a little harsh but using the F-word as an adjective is sooo 1990s. Everyone had frowns on their faces and the only other foreign guy in the room decided to leave. I think it's funny how "open to suggestions" the Chinese are when it comes to listening to a Westerner. So yeah, who tells who that they are a great conversationalist? What makes one person feel they are in that position to judge someone else's conversationalist level? I believe this is subjective, what's interesting to one person isn't necessarily interesting to another. I feel this foreign guy has a bit of growing up to do in this case.
